Foundations Class

Foundations is an 8-week class designed to help you understand what Christians believe, why we believe it, and how those beliefs shape the way we live.

Together, we’ll explore the core teachings of the Christian faith — from Scripture and salvation to spiritual practices and worship — in a way that is thoughtful, accessible, and practical.

This class is not about having all the answers, but about building a strong foundation for a lifelong journey with God.

Whether you’re new to faith, returning to church, or simply wanting to grow deeper, Foundations will help you:
  • Understand the story of the Bible
  • Clarify essential Christian beliefs
  • Develop meaningful spiritual practices
  • Discover how faith is lived out in community

This class creates space for learning, discussion, and growth — helping you move from belief to practice with confidence and clarity.

1

Week One

Theology And It's Sources

We begin by exploring what theology is and why everyone has one. This week looks at how we come to know God through Scripture, tradition, reason, and experience — and why Scripture remains the foundation for Christian belief.

2

Week Two

The Bible & The Story

This week introduces the Bible as one unified story rather than a collection of disconnected books. We’ll explore how the Old and New Testaments work together to tell God’s redemptive story and how to read Scripture with that bigger picture in mind.

3

Week Three

Man, Sin & Salvation

Who are we, and what went wrong? This week looks at humanity’s creation in God’s image, the reality of sin, and God’s plan of salvation through Jesus. We’ll explore how sin affects every part of our lives and how Christ restores our relationship with God.

4

Week Four

The Church

This week explores what the Church is and why it exists. We’ll look at God’s plan for His people throughout history and how the Church today is called to represent God’s Kingdom in the world.

5

Week Five

Devotional Practices

Faith isn’t only something we believe — it’s something we practice. This week introduces spiritual disciplines that help us grow deeper in our relationship with God and learn to hear His voice in everyday life.

6

Week Six

How To Study The Bible

This week focuses on how to engage Scripture intentionally. We’ll learn practical tools for reading and studying the Bible, helping you move beyond surface reading into deeper understanding and application.

7

Week Seven

Shaping Practices

This week examines how our faith reshapes our values and priorities. We’ll explore simplicity, submission, and how following Jesus challenges consumerism, self-centeredness, and cultural assumptions.

8

Week Eight

Confession & Worship

We close by looking at confession and worship as vital practices for spiritual health. This week focuses on heart transformation, community, and how worship shapes our relationship with God and one another.
